With 123 natural springs, Budapest is certainly a thermal capital. It is both hard and easy, to answer the question “What’s the best thermal bath in Budapest?”. If all of them are charming in their own way, making the choice pretty tough, it’s also true that you cannot go wrong with any of them.
Széchenyi, Gellért, and Rudas are the most known, while Lukács Baths are among the most used by the locals, and their spring serves also the historical Király Baths nearby.
Széchenyi Baths
Széchenyi baths are the biggest thermal complex in Budapest, and they offer the winning combo of outdoor, and indoor pools, merged into a pretty, imperial-looking, structure.

Gellérth Baths
Gellért Baths are a must for Art Nouveau lovers. The complex includes the hotel with the same name, and it’s, decorated with mosaics, and ceramic statues, is absolutely unique and has a garden pool too.

Rudas Baths
Historical and panoramic, Rudas Baths are located under the Gellért Hill and were founded in 1566 when the Ottomans occupating Hungary created them for Muslim purification rites. Still, nowadays their architecture contains elements of the original structure, such as the dome, and the octagonal pool.
